Giraffe wall art

Hello everyone!
Today I would like to show how I made my masterpiece. I have never been a good painter, but this project of mine showed me that I am not too bad at it. White walls are so boring and depressive so to make them more attractive we use some paintings, photos in frames or maybe wall clocks and so on. So this time I decided to try myself in painting an African inspired Giraffe wall art. Of course the painting took me about 5-6 days and the easiest way was to buy a wall sticker but.. let me show you how much my art costs me and how much a wall sticker of the same size costs so you can see the difference.

P.S. Sorry for the bad quality of images and for my bad english:) Hope you will enjoy it.

So, yes, I copied in some way the image from internet, because it is really impossible for me to draw it without any help or hint.

The sticker of the same dimensions, if I would buy it on internet, would cost me about 49.99$ or 36.50€.
For my painting I spent 1.99€ for Tempera paint (or poster paint) brown colour, and 0.99€ for paint brush.

So the difference between costs is huge, of course it might not be as perfect as it is on the image that's on your right, but it is my masterpiece and it almost cost me nothing to make it.

Now I will show you step by step the whole process.

So again supplies are: a pencil, tempera paint (or poster paint) of brown (chocolate) colour and a paint brush.
The reason I chose this paint is because it has a nice matte finish, it is non toxic and you can wash it away easily from your wall using a soapy water and a sponge, so if you are tired of your painting you can remove it easily.

So the first and the hardest part is drawing the contour (silhouette) of your wall art. When it's all done you can start paint it.

Because the poster paint is initially designed for paper and posters, one layer isn't enough for a wall, so I used 2 layers of paint for each detail of my painting.

When my little giraffes were ready, the next step was the tree.

When the first layer was absolutely dry, I continued with the second layer.

And this is the final result. Now you can see how big (or small) my painting is in comparison with the bed.
Now my bedroom has a nice safari atmosphere.

Warm summer wreath

Hello everyone!!!
Long time no post:) Summer is very close but on those rainy spring days all we need is some warmth in our houses. So I would like to show you how I made my Warm Summer Wreath to cheer me up on one of those cold days. Use your imagination on what colours and materials you use, the final result worth all time you spent for making it.
All you need is: crepe paper for flowers and butterflies, a cardboard or styrofoam sheet or anything else you can use as a skeleton for your wreath (the shape can be round, square or heart shape), decorative yarn, sellotape, scissors, thread and glue.

P.S. Let the summer begin and warm your hearts.

Start with your wreath skeleton, make it's shape. I preferred to do the classic round shape made of one sheet of styrofoam which I wrapped in sellotape to keep those foam bubbles together.

The next step is wrapping the skeleton in it's final clothes, I used some decorative yarn to wrap it all around.

Using crepe paper of warm colours: brown, beige, red, orange and white, I made some flowers and butterflies to complete the look of my summer wreath.

Using glue I added all components together and this is the final result.

Now my door looks much festive and I am ready for summer :)
